THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF ESTHETICS AND SPA
NATURAL & ORGANIC PAVILION GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in participating in The International Congress of Esthetics and Spa (ICES) Natural & Organic Pavilion. In order to exhibit in the Natural & Organic Pavilion, companies must follow the ICES criteria for natural and organic ingredients and content labeling for all products that are to be located in the Pavilion. The guidelines apply to skin and body care products, cosmetics, food and beverage, clothing/linen and equipment.
CRITERIA:
- No animal derived ingredients are allowed with the exception of beeswax, bee pollen, propolis, honey, royal jelly and milk.
- No animal testing.
- The following ingredients are strictly prohibited: parabens, synthetic colors or fragrances.
- Petroleum derivates are strictly prohibited for the organic products.
- No genetically modified ingredients.
- Companies are encouraged to have an environmentally based mission or company philosophy.
100% NATURAL/ALL NATURAL
Products labeled as “100 percent natural” or “all natural” can only contain ingredients that are present in or produced by nature, that are produced using minimal physical processing, that are directly extracted using simple methods, simple chemical reactions or resulting from naturally occurring biological processes and that do not contain any synthetic preservatives, colors or fragrances.
NATURAL
Seventy percent of the ingredients in products labeled as "natural" must fit the ICES criteria. The remaining 30% may come from ingredients that are not present in nature and do not contain any synthetic preservatives, colors or fragrances.
ORGANIC
Food and Beverage companies with products labeled as “organic” must comply with USDA standards. Clothing and Linen must contain at least 70 percent certified organic content. All other products to be labeled as “organic” are products that include a minimum of 70 percent organically certified ingredients and natural ingredients and that do not contain any synthetic preservatives, colors or fragrances.
MADE WITH ORGANIC INGREDIENTS
Products labeled as “made with organic ingredients” are products that include both organic and natural ingredients and do not contain any synthetic preservatives, colors or fragrances, no animal extracts and no petroleum derivates.
I agree that if and when I label a product or ingredients as “natural” or “organic”, the product will fit the ICES criteria for natural and organic ingredients.
I, the undersigned, have read the Natural & Organic Pavilion guidelines, understand their meaning and guarantee that my products fulfill the criteria above.
Your company’s qualification for the Natural & Organic Pavilion is subject to review and approval by ICES.
ICES does not certify ingredients, products or police compliance. Participation in the Natural & Organic Pavilion does not in any way imply endorsement by the ICES.
